What is an LED ticker display?
A long, low screen that scrolls.
An LED ticker display is a long, low LED screen that scrolls messages, data or graphics across its length.
How it works: a ticker is made of LED modules joined end to end, so its length can match the space. A controller drives the modules, and a network connection brings in the content.
What it can show: anything you can schedule in a content management system, from company news and promotions to welcome messages and branded graphics. Live data such as share prices, scores or news can run too, depending on the feed. We confirm the right feed for your project at the site assessment.
Compared to a cheap scrolling sign, it is full colour, built to length and clear from across the room. Low-cost programmable signs usually come in fixed sizes with one colour and low resolution.

How do you choose the right LED ticker?
Start with how far away people will be when they read it, because that sets the pixel pitch.
Pixel pitch is the distance in millimetres between the centres of neighbouring LEDs. A smaller pitch gives a smoother image up close. For a ticker read from about 4 to 5 m away, we'd usually use a 1.8 mm pixel pitch.
From further away, a larger pitch can do the job, which usually costs less. Our guides to pixel pitch and viewing distances for LED explain the trade-off.

The length and shape of the wall, ceiling or floor
The structure the ticker fixes to
Light levels, including sun through glass
Power, data connection and the content you want to run
Live data feeds and content management
LED tickers run on a content management system (CMS), so you update them remotely and schedule content ahead. We set up the content management system, load your opening content and train your team at handover. If you already run digital signage, we can look at adding the ticker to that network.
Built for Perth conditions
Perth light is the main thing a ticker has to handle, especially through glass. A ticker near a west-facing window or in a sunlit atrium needs more brightness than one in a corridor.
